Shopsmith 10ER DC Motor/Controller for 220 volt ac.
If you have 220 volts ac available in your shop you can go variable speed dc at a great price. This is a nice used GE 180 volt dc motor with 1725 rpm, 3/4 HP and 5/8" shaft. It is mated with a nice, lightly used late model KBMD motor controller completely assembled for bolt on mount to a 10ER Shopsmith of most drill presses or mill drills. Speed range is 200 to 2000 rpm. It has a new 10' 14 gauge power cord with 20 amp 220 volt plug and includes the mounting bolts.
As shown in the optional photo below, I can install a new Trexon digital tachometer in the controller box for 95.00. Let me know if you want this before you pay so I can add it to the invoice. The tach comes with a sensor mounting bracket made for easy mounting on the 10ER.
The reverse switch shown is 45.00 extra.
This motor unit could also be bolted to just about any drill press or mill/drill to get variable speed and eliminate a lot of belt changing.
