MKC TOOLS DC Motor Wiring Box Mod for 10ER Shopsmith Some dc motors have large wiring connection boxes that are not 10ER friendly. To solve this problem I make a disc from a large fender washer and shape the hole to fit a right angle strain releif gizmo. Remove the two screws inside the box and remove the box leaving the rubber seal in place. The photo shows the round hole in the disc before I filed it to a more rectangular shape for the strain relief. Mounting holes are drilled in the disc to line up with the original box mount holes and the disc is mounted to the motor. The wires are covered with heat shrink and the stain releif is snapped into place. I've done several of these and it works very nicely for the 10ER.
