Bondus Cushion grip T handle Hex wrench ball end 5/32" long reach. This wrench is just what you need to tighten those hard to get to way tube set screws in the pivot base. If those screws aren't tight the way tubes can slip out during lathe operations creating a very dangerous situation. Because of the hinge bar inside the pivot base you can't get a direct shot at the set screws and it is a real trick to get the standard hex wrench into them. This ball end wrench will easily go into the set screws at an angle so you can get them tight. Great for other Mark V adjustments also. |

 Ship your 6 spline Gilmer drive Mark V quill and I can upgrade it. That's right! Now you can have a precision machined double bearing quill on your superior 6 spline Gilmer drive Mark V. No need to change to the Poly-v system to get a two bearing quill. I machine the the back end of the quill and spindle to accept a new top quality ball bearing. This eliminates movement in the rear of the spindle and cuts the TIR (runout) at the tip of the spindle to .001" or less depending on the condition of your original spindle. This eliminates the need for the plastic noise suppressor on the drive sleeve and it must be removed. The front bearing also replaced with a new bearing to give many years of excellent service. Turn around time is usually 3 days or less after I receive your quill. Your satisfaction is gauranteed. At times I will have extra 6 spline quills modified and ready to ship. Check with me. |

Original single bearing Mark V quill precision machined for double bearing. Upgrade for your Mark V Shopsmith with the 14 spline spindle. Fits all Mark V machines from mid 1961 through the current model. I bore the rear end of the quill and knurl the spindle to accept a new precision NTN sealed ball bearing. The front bearing also has a new NTN sealed bearing to give many years of excellent service. This cuts the runout at the tip of the spindle to .001" or less depending on the condition of your original spindle. Unlike most factory 2 bearing quills, the larger rear bearing in these upgrades plus being much further back in the quill means less runout and lets the bearings last much longer. Plus, you have the original one piece spindle instead of two pieces pinned together. Your satisfaction is guaranteed. |
