Davis Wells Comet 6" long bed jointer. 1HP Dayton 3450rpm single phase 115Volt. This is a real work horse of a jointer. Very heavy cast iron with adjustable infeed and outfeed tables. An excellent fence system that locks rigidly at any angle with one twist of the knob and has stops for 45 and 90°. The table measurements are 62" long by 8 3/8" wide plus a rabbiting extension. The fence is 28" long by 4" high. This is a 6" jointer but the table is the size of most 8" jointers. The superior fence can be set askew so that the blades have a slicing motion and is great for jointing highly figured woods. The jointer was bead blasted and repainted. Some bare metal parts black oxided. The bottom 3" of the stand was rusted out so I cut it off flush all the way around and welded on a 3"x1½" heavy wall channel iron frame with heavy duty casters and screw locking pads on all 4 corners. It has a new switch with lock/guard, power cord and belt and belt guard. I just added the large red blade guard from an 8" Delta jointer and it works great. The three blade head unit is missing the blades and blade holders. Otherwise the unit is ready to run.
